What does the Southern Tier, New York Chapter of Contemplative Outreach offer to our community?
The Southern Tier, New York Chapter of Contemplative Outreach offers many opportunities to deepen one’s relationship with God and support the process of one’s transformation in Christ. Attending a retreat, workshop, enrichment program, or participating in a prayer group can all help establish a new practice and deepen an established practice of various Christian spiritual disciplines, like prayer, Scripture mediation, silence and solitude, spiritual reading of Scripture, journaling, and Bible Study.
Heartfulness March – June 2016
We continue to meet for a time of Silence, Support and Prayer at Mount Saviour Monastery in Pine City, New York. We have been meeting as part of Contemplative Outreach of the Southern Tier for the past ten years.
We begin with silent prayer in the crypt of the monastery
Liturgy with the monks of Mt. Saviour
After mass we gather in St. Peter’s Conference Room
This time we do a Lectio and support each other in our prayer of silence.
Each year we are studying the work of Richard Rohr. “What the Mystics Know”
12:00 Summary and Closing Prayer.
All are welcome whether interested in Centering Prayer, Meditation, Soul Friending or curious about the Spiritual Journey. It is a morning of prayer and awareness of the presence and action of God.
